What makes you feel nostalgic?
Yes, a lot of things. Usually this happens spontaneously, you hear popular music several decades ago or find yourself in a place where you haven’t been for a long time and hello memories.
But I want to talk to you about photographs. Previously, this was rare. There are several photographs left from my grandparents, several dozen photographs from my parents, several hundred photographs from my childhood and youth, and my child already has thousands of photographs and thousands of videos. When to watch all this?
Of course this affected the value of the photographs. Previously, when relatives met, the first thing they did was look at the photos. Now there won’t be enough time for this. Why then make so many images?
One day I thought about it and for a couple of years now I have been on every special day for my family. I prepare a selection of photos and turn on “gallery view” on the computer. If it is a birthday or a death day then I collect photos about this person, if it is some kind of holiday, then I collect photos from past holidays.
Well, today we will all celebrate the New Year and say goodbye to the old year. And in memory of 2023, I will start viewing all the photos taken this year. Both my family and I will watch and be nostalgic about the events we lived together.
